"While the angels sang a Whiskey Lullaby..
La la la la la la la..."
-Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisley and Alison Kraus
First name: Mackenzie
First brought into the world: November 22, 1995, 10:21 PM
First home: This little one-story house close to downtown. I remember that place so well. Now its almost eerie going back there, especially going into my old room...I lived there till I was 12.
First school: St. Vincents Elementary. Lemme tell you, a whole freaking lot of amazing memories were made there. Its that place that makes me want to go back to being a child again..
First best friend: Her name was Rowan. She and I got a lot of trouble together. She moved away in 5th grade.
First major life moment: This probably won't sound like anything "major" to most people, but it was to me. When I was in 3rd grade, my parents gave away my little maltese dog, Murphy. They didn't even tell me about it. I cried for days about that. That dog was like, my best friend.
First favorite song: Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisley and Alison Kraus (Which I quote above) You wouldn't be able to tell at all by looking at me now, but up until about 6th grade, I was a 100% Country Girl. Honestly. That song still holds a special place somewhere in my heart. I listened to it a few days ago for the first time in years, and it almost made me cry.
First major injury: I don't even remember how old I was, it was probably 3rd or 4th grade, but anyway. I was riding bikes with two of my friends when we came to this huge hill by the river with gravel at the bottom. They both looked at me and said, "Why don't you go down first?" Whatever, I said. So I started pedaling. Once I got near the bottom, the two of them started yelling "Stop!" at me. So I stopped. What happens when you stop really quickly on gravel? You completely flip over your bike handlebars and land flat on your back and end up with a completely scarred up face and back and arms and pretty much everything for a couple weeks or so.
First major trip: Last year, I hopped on a plane (or two...or three...) and went to Japan. I'm defenitly going back again next year. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever done in my lifetime.
First favorite band: My Chemical Romance. Why is this important to put down? (Hah, I just read your mind) I'll tell you. Music is an exetremely important part of my life, it always has been. This band has, in many ways, saved my life. I can't even explain it and I'm not going to try. But I will say that they are one of the most important things to me. Even though I've never even met any of them or anything...still.
First school transfer: Most people go to the same school or school district their entire school career. Not me. I went from an incrdeibly small and reserved private school to a significantly larger and louder public school my 8th grade year. It was waaaay off for me. See, I went from being in a class of litterally four people to being in a class of roughly 130. I pulled my way through and survived though and now, some of those 130 people my very best friends.
First major life reconstrusction: January 1, 2011. That's right. As I stated before, this is a new year with new possibilities and new reasons to "keep on living." So far, my philosophy is doing alright. Not entirely well, but not a disaster either. I'm getting there, you see? :)
